About

My name is Scott Esposito. I am a member of the National Book Critics Circle. My reviews, essays, and interviews have been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Chattahoochee Review, the Rain Taxi Review of Books, and Boldtype, among others. I also edit the online quarterly The Quarterly Conversation.

Conversational Reading was started in August of 2004. At that time I had been reading litblogs for a few months, and it suddenly hit me that I wanted my own. Since then, the rewards for and pleasure of maintaining this blog have far exceeded anything I might have imagined or hoped when I first began.

A whole bunch of mainstream and indie publications have had nice things to say about this blog and its sister-publication, The Quarterly Conversation. Conversational Reading has been discussed or/or singled out by the following: The New York Times, The Village Voice, Variety magazine, the Rain Taxi Review of Books, AndrewSullivan.com, New West, and many others.
