About

Conversational Reading is a weblog that covers literature. Each week it covers new and interesting works of literature, book industry news, notable essays and interviews, and occasionally stories from the worlds of art and classical music.

The blog was created in August of 2004 by Scott Esposito, a writer and member of the National Book Critics Circle. Among others places, his reviews, essays, and interviews have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Boldtype magazine.

Conversational Reading has been discussed on and/or linked to by prominent publications, including The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, Variety, AndrewSullivan.com, and many others.

The fall of 2005 saw the creation of Conversational Reading's sister-publication The Quarterly Conversation. The latter is a quarterly web publication that publishes approximately 15 book reviews and 5 feature articles and interviews per issue.
